Here is a pic of my new decoys. I bought 30 of them, at around $8 each off Fleabay. They're like the foam rubber turkey decoys. I made a little fitting on a 3/8 plastic hose to "inflate" them and get them to proper body shape. My large duffel bag holds 22 decoys. Slowly but surely, getting ready.

What material are the stakes made out of?

I've kind of given up on staked decoys, the frosted fields don't seem to care for them.
 
Had my decoys out for the once over this past weekend as well. The only stakes I find that work are from my very old shells and they are made of metal. Pretty much run stand style decoys now like Bigfoot etc....

Cant wait for the season to start!
 
I got my goose decoys out from storage last week and gave them a good painting to revive them. They sure take a beating during the season and the white parts begin to look terrible...chipped scratched and stained. Some quick touch ups and a blast of flat matte clear coat and they are good for another season.....which cant come soon enough

Good call. Birds may not care, but I’m too OCD that it would bother me looking at those legs in the field. I bet the company that makes those decoys also makes similar mallard decoys that use the same stakes, hence why they are orange

There is a good chance that, as someone else, they use the same feet for their duck and goose decoys. But, you may also be right, or you could both be right.
