Hello Everyone. having a conversation with my neibour in regards to putting down apples before the deer hunt.. As i recall the bait must be removed 2 week prior . Is this Correct. Hunting in Ontario.

Not correct. It was an OFAH ask the CO topic last year. He said, " This information is not correct. Ontario does not have any regulations pertaining to baiting for deer, apart from not being able to use a product (e.g., lure or scent) that contains or purports to contain the feces, urine, blood, gland oil, saliva, or other bodily fluids of a member of the deer family, as these products may contain prions that cause chronic wasting disease."
Also, in Ontario you can sit over a bait pile and call it hunting.
 
Prohibiting or regulating the feeding of wildlife, other than the use of feed as bait for hunting or trapping wildlife. 1997, c. 41, s. 113 (1); 2009, c. 33, Sched. 22, s. 2 (30); 2020, c. 34, Sched. 5, s. 3.

Lots of municipalities have rules against it.
If you’re doing it outside of the season at your own risk.
Turkeys are the only ones that the bait has to be removed prior to the hunt
