Deer decoy thoughts

My stand is at the edge of a large field , and I heard ( and it makes sense ) that the deer may be more comfortable walking into the field when the turkeys are around and feeding . Relying on each other to warn of danger.
Would it make sense then to put a few Turkey decoys around......

1. Has anybody done this, and if so what are your thoughts
2. Do you think the conservation officers would frown on this practice, thinking I want to take an out of season bird?
3. Am I just thinking to much, getting to excited about the up coming hunt, and should just relax

I think it's worth a try I will be try the same thing, as far as the officer I wouldn't worry about it you are hunting deer not turkeys
I think if he checks you and you explain it to him all would be good.

I have and to me the deer seem more calm and curious than with just the deer decoy alone. I have seen deer and turkey feeding together at various times and a chase by one or the other is usually part of the proceedings so it seems like a natural to me.
