the old man and i went out and setup 200 yards apart near a corn field. wind was perfect so i expected to see something. when we started to lose light i see my dads flashlight and think to myself "why is he leaving so early?" then it clicks in that he likely got a deer.

i guess 7 turkey and 2 does came out about right between us and headed his way in the field. it was close to the end of shooting time so he decided to nail a small doe for some good eats. 35 yards right through the heart.

he was using a crimson talon broadhead and the blood trail was amazing. there was so much blood in the corn field we could see the trail for 30 yards (all the deer ran) in the corn field when it was dark. my dad has shot alot of deer and has never seen a blood trail with nearly this much blood. it was like someone just poured a bunch of blood in a straight line. the best part is they were only $25 down at gander mountain.

im going to get some to try them out.

great info. I'm about to pull the trigger on buying an Excalibur Phoenix, and I'll definitely have a look at these broadheads.

i have an excalibur exomax (go big or go home:D) and its awesome. they have excellent customer service and warranties. but the best part of all is they are made right here in kitchener, ontario.

the archers nook in london, ontario had the best pricing (even after shipping) and were easy to deal with.

What did you pay for your exomax (taxes and all that ####te)?
I'm just wrapping up a site job and have some cash burning a hole in me pocket :D

i think it was around $900 with bow, scope mount and rings, extra string, and the right stuff package. the bow was around $620 i think. the newer version of the exomax has a thumbhole stock on it. 225lb draw and 355fps still though so i guess the only difference is the stock?

even out to 40 yards i dont shoot at the same place twice because its so accurate.

if you see a used one at a good price buy her up quick as they never last long...

I try to support Canadian made products whenever possible, and the fact that Excalibur is in Kitchener and *is* the best hunting crossbow just makes it a no-brainer.

I'll check out archers nook. My local bow shop has the phoenix "just enough" package including scope, quiver, 4 arrows and both target and broadhead tips for $670 + taxes.
