Take a look at these recent threads and you will soon come to the conclusion that the quality of deer hunting in my province is inferrior to my neighbors.

-"let the numbers speak for themselves"

Thus I would like to start hunting outside of province/country in the years to come. Can anyone help point a Fellow CGNut in the right direction for hunting in Ontario? Is it possible for me to get multiple tags for hunting deer in your province? Is the services of an outfitter recommended, granted I do not have access/knowledge of a good hunting "spots"? Anyone know where I can rent land for hunting? What are the prime area's I should consider? Are there areas that are open to the public that could be prosperous? Do the same regs apply to a non-resident? Like most of you, the cost of the trip would be the deciding factor and the number of times I would be able to afford such a voyage in my lifespan. ANY help would be greatly apprecited, you can PM me with detailed info if necessary.:)

Thanks Guys

as far as guides go i think you only need one if you plan on hunting in the Rainy River Districts. Deer tag here cost non residents $180.00 and each additional tag will cost the same.As far as good hunting areas go most of the province is good for deer hunting

In addition to what Dumbdawg said, some areas do not have a non resident season at all, but most do. The areas closest to Montreal all have rifle, muzzleloader and archery seasons open to non-residents. One tag is good for all of these, so you dont need a different tag for each season. Availability of additional tags varies depending on the WMU you are hunting and they are only valid in that WMU. Non residents can only hunt antlered deer, no doe tags.

Maybe somebody could post a link to the online regs for Goose? It has more details and the maps showing the different WMU's.

If you came to Quebec you could hunt just about anywhere in the southern part of the province for deer, but the problem is the 165 000 other hunters that are fighting for those exact same spots.

Last season I started the pre-hunt preperations by mid august (baiting, tree-stands, scouting, etc...). This was a new spot we had discovered and everything was looking good until the opening day of deer season. We had just bagged a nice 6 point buck and had started to gut him when I hear crick crack blah blah blah, as you might have guessed it... two ####tards come walking by chit chatting and doing there best at what they call "hunting". (They were forty yards ahead of us when one of them yelled out, "hey you guys got something!")
