I moved from Georgetown on. in 2002 to Manitoba. Since being out west I have taken up hunting. I have family back in Georgetown who i will visit the first weekend of october. My question is about deer hunting around there that weekend. Are there any outfitters near there? I have tried to look up what seasons are open then and think it is deer archery. Thanks for the info. Where to get tags? etc.

Archery deer opens in most of Southern Ontario on the 1st of October (it's a Thursday this year).

As an "out of province" Canadian resident you can get the outdoors card and a BUCK tag at any licence issuer (sports stores, crappy tires, Service Ontario (Gov) offices.

They WILL "pick your pocket" - as a non-Ontario resident a deer tag will go for a little over 240 bucks, so count on $250 with the outdoors card.

Can't help you with an outfitter in the area...

Georgetown can be a hard area the to get permission in, there are a few crown land spots on the escarpment you can try on down around Milton and I think one off 15 side Rd. Other then that it is all private property and the area is saturated with urban farmers ( doctors and lawyers) aka bleeding heart nature lovers so permission is usually the issue.

Oh it will be bow only zone!
