Deer Hunting With Rem 35cal

have not used this gun for deer yet what ammo would be good to use
its a Marlin lever action in Rem 35cal

Good old 200 grain soft points are all you need. Deer are easy, and that bullets been workin' for a loooong time in the Marlin levers.

BTW, JB: If you are anywhere near me and want to take a drive, I have a whack of factory 35 rem ammo....and no rifle to shoot it in. I'll sell it cheap

That is my favorite close quarters thich brush gun, I have taken my deer with it for the last seven years. When I bought the rifle I managed to find five boxes of remington 200 grain round nose core loks and they do the trick nicely. The 336 is so compact that it actually fits inside the rear cargo box on the quad when it is not straped to my shoulder. This year I started reloading for it and found a good load using 36 grains of imr 4895 and a 200 grain inter bond hornady round nose.

I'd love to shoot a deer with the old .35 what an excellent old deer-Bbear cartridge. Mine (Rem M-8) unfortunately is just too heavy & I do a little too much walking to carry it

I'll be using my Model 8-A,made in 1924,worked back then ,still works today!! This year I'm going to try some Barnes 35cal X 200gr. Good luck guys,JITC
