Does anyone have a favorite type, so many to choose from: Tinks, buck stop, code blue etc, is doe in heat the best in rut ??

Tinks seems to be the stanby for most hunters. You have to experiment. What works for someones area may not work for yours.

I've been using one called "Hot Doe", from Canadian tire. Not sure of the manufacturer, but it has a green label. (Spray on bottle)

Add a good call and the $hit works like magic!!!

I have been using various scents such as Code Blue, Tink's, 4X4 (for mule deer), among others. I believe that they generally perform quite well for attracting bucks to my stand.

What I did not realize is that some of these products may not be safe for deer. I recently read an article that suggested using some of these scents could contribute to the spread of leptospirosis, brucellosis, CWD etc.

On my last trip to the local sporting goods store, I noticed that there are various scents for sale that have been tested for diseases. Also, I noted that there were some new synthetic scents that would not run the risk of transmission to other animals. I opted to purchase one of the Knight & Hale synthetic products and should have a chance to evaluate it's effectiveness this week.

It looks like the jury is out on the safety of some of these scents so let's be careful!

I use K & H synthetic buck scent and hot doe. It doesn't smell like the real thing, but it does work for me. Price is good and shelf life is less of an issue.
