Hey fellas, I am refering to any of the older, smoothbore Ithaca M37/87 Deerslayer 12 and 20 gauge variants.
(Deerslayer Police Special too)
Why is it, that these Ithaca slug shooters with the factory sights shoot so well, compared to other brand name shotguns of the same time frame?
(IE-My Ithaca has a full choke and groups surprizingly well with foster/brenneke rotweill, too)
Do Remingtons/Mossberg etc...slug shooting shotguns, that are also smoothbore from that era, do as well accuracy-wise? Certainly factory ammo, is half the answer here I believe.
Anyone to support or refute this and thier personal experiences (hunting field or range) please?
cheers......
