Defender 89

Hey guys,

I'm looking at one of these mini revolvers in 32 rimfire and all that is stamped on it is "Defender 89". I read that Iver Johnson made them between 1889 and 95ish, but there's nothing to indicate that,... and no patent dates.

Are they all officially Canadian antiques?

I’ve owned three of them. All antique, I don’t think you have any reason to worry.

Thanks freeman, I'd appreciate that. But there are no numbers visible... could they be under the grip panels?

Yep, under the grips, bottom left side, on both of mine!

You are correct... starting at the very bottom and moving up the back strap it's 833, or maybe 338 if you read downwards.
