del.

Sometimes there’s room, I lengthened the magazine well on a REM 700 by .125” to allow seating longer bullets in my 7-08 and the bolt nose was still well back, so you might be able to have the ejection port lengthened without messing up feeding. A good gunsmith would let you know if it’s possible.

See where the tip of the offending bullet hits the front of the port and how much too long it is... a small recess can be ground into the front of the 'port' that would allow the loaded round to eject.

Some Weatherby Mark V's have that right from the factory. I have done it on occasion and when done carefully looks perfectly fine...

The older Weatherby actions were done nicely with a very minimum cut.

So , a bit of a delicate touch and some hand tools , a combination of the bolt stop and receiver work could alleviate the issue.

See how much is needed first... my preference would be a cut in the front for bullet tip clearance...

The other thing is why are you having to extract/eject live rounds so often... if just occasionally use the bolt release...

This is what I am also debating , so for the time in the field that it actually gets done won't be very often at all.Range and load development it is obviously a non issue.

There may be the odd time a cease fire is called when you have a round up the spout. Many of my target rifles will not eject a loaded round so the bolt release is the only option.
