What about that Remington rifle with the long blow back system. Can't remember the model but was made in the 1930's or so and has a very fat barrel since the outside is actually a hollow shell with the real barrel inside.
That was the Remington Model 8 and later the 81 the Fat barrell actually contained the recoil spring and was not a gas operated system . J. Browning was the inventor in 1907 ,sold it to FN the Remington .Too complicated to go over here. Therec is a "remington 8/81" web site. JITC
