Well, that sucks. I would read over the EE section stickies related to bad deals, to see what others have done. If all else fails, get the law involved.

Now that sucks, I'm sorry your first buy on the EE turned out to be negative.

Did the seller have a previous history of bad or good sales ? I usually look at the trader rating, number of posts, and date of joining when I consider an EE purchase as I get a little weary with new accounts.

Contact the fellow, looks like he has been away for a week or 2 (no new posts).. if no action, leave him neg feedback.

Dont you think that YOU are being a bit impatient?

The rifle arrived on the 21st. according to your post, and today is the 22nd., and here you are on Forum spouting off all kinds of things and insinuating the guy is dishonest just because he has not IMMEDIATELY answered your e-mails.

This is the Week-end! A lot of people go away for the week-ends and do not sit around waiting for a possible e-mail. Other people have a life too. It is even possible that the guy is on Vacation, work or other reasons.

Now if you had been e-mailing him for 5 or 6 days and getting no response, then you might have a valid point, but you are not really giving the guy a fair chance to respond to your emails.

No, I do not know who the guy is, have never dealt with him, he is not a relation, and this is the first time I have heard of him. In checking, he has 16 posts and 67 EE posts, so he is obviously one of those people who use the EE as an outlet for selling things.

However, I do believe that YOU are being unfair in putting this up as a thread considering the short time between you receiving the rifle and your posting of this thread, especially on the week-end when a lot of people are away.

I know that the above is not what you really want to hear, but from where I am sitting, it is a fact. Most of the people here are honest, but unfortunately there are a few bad apples.

The Seller in this case joined in 2004, has had 70 trades with 68 positive and 1 negative for a 98.6% Positive rating. I only went back one year so that negative rating was well before that, and frankly I would look at a 1 negative rating as not too bad as there is always someone you deal with that can never be satisfied.

I would give the guy 3 or 4 days to respond, and send an e-mail outlining the problems with the rifle and tell him you are not satisfied with it and are going to send it back because of the wrong description of the barrel condition. Then, go from there.

GIVE THE GUY A REASONABLE TIME TO ANSWER YOUR E-MAILS.

It's been one day and he hasn't replied to your email?

Settle down and don't forget to breath! People work, take vacation, and don't live in front of the computer 24/7.

Do you have a telephone where you could actually phone the seller or do you only know how to communicate by email?

Wait for the member to respond as the others are saying. Or phone. I would hold off on any negative feedback as you may be able to work something out.

This thread will be locked shortly but in the mean time, I would edit your post and remove the members name. We don't need that info right now.

Yes i have his phone number , i tried calling him twice today with no luck ,, IM NOT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS HERE ... But this guy did not even come close to describing what he sold properly.. If he can make it right in the next week or so i will be happy . like i said in my post i would not think about taking any action against him until i give him a good chance to make it right. I came here for advice thats it

Not sure where you live but a sunny summer Sunday in Eastern Canada...most of us are at the camp, at the beach or otherwise not at home. Busy vacation time right now too.

Reason I am on the internet...too hot, taking a break in the cool basement.

Sorry to hear about your disappointment --- I too purchased a rifle once that ended up having a bulged barrel, even after I specifically asked the seller if the barrel had any bulges.

I think you just gave yourself good advice: give him a chance to make it right in the next week.

I think that's about all the advice you need at the moment; if you feel the seller is avoiding you after a week, then other advice might be warranted.

Good luck, and try not to let one sour deal ruin future deals for you --- with established CGN members, they are the exception, not the rule.
