Gun store tried to swap my scope to a new rifle and the screws wouldn't budge. Any suggestions? Older gun hinted for years.

If they are Loctited in then a soldering iron might get enough heat in to melt it. If time means anything to you, you can cut the screw heads off with a carbide burr in a Dremel. I've resorted to that a couple times, it's easy on Allen or Torx head screws, just burn the hole a bit deeper and the head pops right off.
 
I recently had to remove some Sako ring-to-base screws with screw extractors and an impact drill, after heat and penetrating lube didn't work.
 
Most oilfield equipment that uses set screws are put together with ridiculous amounts of Loctite - Lots of heat is your best bet.
A torch with Bernz-O-Matic MAP-Pro works best for blue Loctite.
Also tap the top of the Allen key or screw driver with a small ball peen hammer while turning.
The screws and rings will likely be NFG after the fact unfortunately.
 
First try some local heat not a huge amount but get it to about the same temp as u use for loctite.. Then immediately remove heat source and quench the hot screw with a birthday candle let it cool down.When cool to the touch remove many have been done like this.

A Bic lighter works as you don't need to resort to a tiger torch /flamethrower from the get go.I turn the rifle upside down in a cradle or have a friend hold it ,then heat each screw head separately with the lighter.I also had a Sako somebody lock tighted.........Harold
 
1)Drill the heads off, and remove the scope.
2)heat the remaining studs with a torch and unscrew them with pliers.
3)replace the screws, and throw away your locktite.
