Thinking of getting me a new shotgun. I was pretty much set on Rem until I found a couple of pictures of Fabarm pump on this forum. So, I hope for some help to figure out some answers:

1. What and from whom (dealers) is available in Canada - 12ga, 20ga, 410?
2. What chokes/barrels come with it? If it does not come as a field combo - does it have screw-in chokes available or interchangable barrels available?
3. For those who owned/used Rem, Mossy and Fab - what from those three is your favorite as for reliability, field-strip ease, customer service, aftermarket parts availability etc?
4. Is this shotgun considered as a zombie defence, hunting (small to medium game) or sporting (clay/trap) shotty? I kinda need all in one, lol!
5. Can a ghost ring sight be installed/ordered? Telestock? Recoil reducer? How is recoil in 12ga 2-3/4" anyway in comparison to other pumps?
6. Any info, basically, why Fab is so Fab!

Thank you in advance.

I have a fab SDASS in nickel, and love it, but there are a few considerations before you shell out for one.

1. Fab pumps don't have "hunting" barrels or field combo's, the max is the 18"
2. Chokes for the pumps are external, and come in the standard sizes, C, IC, M, IM, Full, but all are accessories
3. The Fab can be had with ghost ring sights, and come prepped for all the rail mounts you could want
4. There are not a lot of aftermarket toys made specifically for the Fab's, but Fab does have a full line of stocks

As to why, once you handle one you will understand. They are tighter, smoother, and more refined than the Remmy's, Winny's, or Mossy's. If you want a hunting/mixed use gun, either look at the auto or o/u line, or stick with the big three makers. They (everything but Fabarm ;) ) are considerably cheaper as well.

A lot of CGN members seem to have the "Martial Pro Forces" with 14" barrel, but it is not on Fabarm's website. Is it discontinued?

When I was looking into getting one last year I couldn't find them on the Fabarm site as well. TSE in Calgary had them though. Not sure why it wasn't on the site...

Thank you, panman! :)

I picked mine up from Wanstalls, they usually have a selection of different stocked versions on the wall and if they don't have it they can order it. They are definitely above the rest as far as quality goes but so is the price.
