I found one that can be attached to the bayonet lug however I would like to keep bayonet in its original place AND have a bipod. Could you please recommend a bipod, not necesarily designed for SKS, that will be mounted on the barrel directly? Also, if bayonet lug mounted bipod is the only option - which one to pick? Thanks.

This particular rifle I want to keep as original as possible. The only addition I would like on it is a bipod. I hate to replace the bayonet with bipod and that's why I tried to find a bipod for SKS that will sit on the barrel instead on the bayonet lug. Well, I guess, this rifle will not see ANY changes and all my ideas I will implement on my next SKS "project" rifle.

Assumning you have replaced the stock, you get an adapter that replaces the swivel and that allows you to put a bipod on. Something similar to this:

Go onto the banner advertiser at the top "Tradex" They have a very handy, light,adjustable and strong bipod that is detachable. It's quite inexpensive as well. I can vouch for this bipod first hand. It is matte black and made out of an aluminum composite the is tough and handy.

Where are the bipods listed on their site, its painful to navigate

I found the same one they sell for half the price in other place. This is not what I want. But thank you anyway. :)
