Rebarrelled with later production barrel. Caliber marking should be atop the barrel and MODEL 94 stamp is wrong for an 1897 rifle. Take the forend off and look on the bottom of the barrel directly in front of the receiver, should be a two digit date there, that is when the barrel was made. Wood is damaged and sanded. Rear sight is special order Winchester express either two or three leaf sight but all leaves are broken off. If bore is good will be a good woods rifle, collector value is nil. IMO value is less than $500. Parted out probably almost double that.
