So the moral of the story is pretty much spend the extra 2-300$ and get a vz 58 or stick with a plain sks and maybe use the duckbill magazines.Hi, I'm considering buying a SKS-D, the type that take ak mags. Does anyone have any experience with them?
- Can full sized optics be mounted easily? If you use a wartak rail then yes
- Do they feed reliable? not as well as a regular sks
- What kind of price can I expect to pay for one? way to much 5-600 probably
- Are magazines cheap?no 30-50$ ea
- Are they reasonable accurate? the chinese civilian production sks aren't as good and the military ones but an sks is an sks, some are good and are not so good

Pretty much bang and OP appears to agree...
If you COLLECT sks's then go for it. If you want one for a good shooter - there are many better options. That being said - to each there own!
