No such thing as an M1 Rifle chambered in .30 Carbine. Receiver's far too long for one thing. No M1 Rifle clips for .30 Carbine either. Too big for the cartridge.
Otherwise, .30 Carbine is a commercial factory ammo or reloading thing. Likely not much factory around either. Any milsurp(never ever seen any in case lots) is long gone.

I'm not an expert but I believe the garand is 30.06 also called 30 calibre not the same as 30 m1 carbine which is a shoulder less round like a pistol

US Rifle, M1 Garand, Cal 30 is not by any stretch, US Carbine, Cal 30 M1 - they're both great cartridges but very different.

The classic M1 Garand is chambered in 30-06. The M1 carbine is chambered in .30 carbine a pistol like round. Generally a Garand is anywhere from $1000-$2000 obviously depending on condition, maker, year, wartime original etc. etc.. The M1 carbine is generally from $700-$1000 also depending on alot of factors. Finally ammo for both can be had and is not super high priced but isn't super cheap either I guess. .30 carbine ammo is a bit cheaper(less than $1 a round) generally than 30-06($1-$2 a round for most) though. Not a big load of info but hopefully it answers some of your questions and helps.

Has to be a minimum of 18.5" ( 470mm) or it's restricted.

One looks like the dovetail has been milled off of the rear sight base.

I love these little guys, could carry one all day long. Light, accurate and an absolute joy to shoot. This is my last one I have left, original Underwood with a couple hundred rounds of original wartime ammo.

The one with the wood top handguard and the milled off rear sight base is a German or Bavarian Police model, or possible Border Guards. A couple of years ago, there was one floating around this Forum that had a crack on the left receiver wall near the locking lug recess.

Just today I installed a nice Inland barrel on an Inland receiver. Headspace is ticketty-boo with an Inland bolt. They are always a nice project and a fun piece to shoot.

It's to bad the Bavarian has had the Bavarian markings ground off. They can bring a premium price from some collectors. Especially in the US.

30 carbine is reasonable to shoot and really cheap to reload. Fun for plinking but limited hunting potential due to lack of energy. Not saying you can't shoot a deer with it but I'd keep it under 100 yds or less.
