Yeah, I agree. Likely a combination. My main shooting bud has loaded some of his LRP Lapua cases 15+ times. Lapua cases are very good.

As a side note- I know 2 guys who've had hang fires/misfires with SRP in the cold. But, as you mentioned earlier and was mentioned in the Alpha test, there are so many variables. It can be hard to know the exact cause. Maybe they were using BR4s... ;)

Thanks for that Alpha link. I'd missed the post on their site. Really enjoyed reading & picking thru it.

Something to note, I have tried enlarging the flash hole on my Lapua brass a few months ago. Prepped 10 cases in the name of science. I did not find any difference in ignition or group or chrono. If i were to change to a double base powder that might not be the case? Either way, the results were not meaningful enough to justify drilling out the holes in the other 90 cases. A nonexistant problem looking for an un necessary solution imho.

I highly recommend Alpha brass from Gary at Bighorn Sales.
The most consistent brass I have used and Gary is one of the finest people in the industry.

I am looking as well, but add this to your list of suppliers.. soreshouldershootingsupplies.com
as well Bowyer sports in Maple creek.

Bowyer's generally stocks a good supply of Lapua brass. Last time I talked to him (awhile ago) he had a few boxes of 6.5 CM.

Personally I've had no issues with hangfires in cold weather and I've run 223 and Lapua SRP 6.5 CM in -30C temps.
