Went to the range over the weekend to test out this new delta 5-50x56 and I was very impressed with the clarity and the perfect tracking of this scope . The reticle is fine and very sharp , the 1/8 clicks makes it perfect for centering the groups and can't wait to run it in a match.

This is the clearest scope I have ever looked through the 34mm tube allows for 100moa of adjustment and amazing resolution

Nice to hear about a new manufacture making a nice product. I looked up the scope in question and it looks about $2300 US, so I give you credit for spending Nightforce cash on an unknown maker. After all the Huskemaw BS that went around, I don't think I could make myself be a ginea pig...

Try $2275 Canadian from Hirsch Precision. I remember when people said the same about Nightforce, Sightron etc.. Yeah, it's a bit of a chance but these things bat way above their price point. They have been around since 2002( not really new) and I believe they are really going to take off with these new Stryker models so it isn't much of a risk in my books. A NightForce NSX is a good scope but the Delta Stryker is a good step above for sure and it's cheaper. I am very happy with the two I purchased and plan to purchase at least one more. A buddy of mine purchased one and also plans on another. He thinks optically it is pretty much on par with the S&B PMII 5-25x56. As a whole package I actually like it better than the S&B. The S&B is better in some ways but the Stryker is better in more ways in my opinion.

That does sound like a winner. What is the warranty and country of service/repair?

Anyone know where the glass is made?

Warranty is 10 years .Send it to Hirsch Precision and they will take care of you. Delta is based in Poland and the Scope is made in Japan at LOW, glass is Japanese but Delta does the coating and polishing as far as I know. I did a lot of research on these before pulling the trigger and based on the price I thought it was worth the risk. Now that I have 2 I am glad I did.
I predict Delta will become well known in North America within a couple of years.A product this good at this price point doesn't remain unknown very long.

With the reviews of these products so far they are an excellent option for the price point and offer serious competition to higher priced scopes. Hopefully they remain competitively priced by Delta!

Can you comment on the feel of the turrets.. is there another scope brand that you would say had a similar feel?

So far I am seeing the Stryker I am looking at as being very ( VERY ) similar to the Athlon Cronus BTR. Finish a wee bit nicer and it is priced a bit lower.

You may be correct, but no one has said that Athlon glass would compare to S&B. Based only on the comments I've seen on this forum, the delta may be a lot more bang for the buck.

The S&B has better glass overall but as far as resolution goes they are about equal BUT the Delta does 4.5-30( for real). The S&B 5-25x56 really does 7-25( for real). That is a HUGE advantage to the Delta. As I said, as a package I think the Delta Stryker is actually better than the S&B PMII 5-25x56. I sold the S&B because that tunnelling was unacceptable in a scope of that price range. I plan on getting another Delta.
The point I am making is you have to spend a lot to get this feature set and glass. It is a real 7x zoom and has a great feature set. Who else makes a very high resolution scope with 7 times mag, zero stop, 100 moa of elevation, FFP, illuminated reticle and a feature set like the Delta for under $2300 canadian?

im not sure what point you are trying to make. Presently I'm reviewing the Delta and it is excellent - I am so far calling it neck and neck Delta/Cronus. Comments about tunnelling on SB PMii are accurate and are well known but in terms of pure glass S&B remains - at least to my eyes- the standard to beat. Glass isn't what it's all about though is it - there is a reason I have 3 Razor II and only 2 PMII for example - one must consider a number of other factors and its in these other areas that S&B in my view show its age.

The Athlon Cronus BTR and Delta Stryker 4.5-30 are twins... made by the same Japanese factory, LOW which makes a wide range of products offered under a variety of name plates. I sell both, I have both here (DLR-1) ... except for coloration and markings, physically the same. These scopes actually use ED glass and it is obvious when viewing small stuff beyond 1000yds. I am currently doing side by side testing with a S&B PMII high mag scope and these two give up very little and have some more positive features vs the S&B.

Not bad considering these upstarts are less then 1/2 the price of the S&B.

I have run the Cronus BTR through some box testing which you can read on my FB or dealer forum. Tracking is bang on and it matches the reticle at various mags (just because it is FFP doesn't mean a scope can't have optical distortion as you change mag). I expect the same from the Delta given they are the same scope physically.

Looking at my test chimney at 1035yds, both offer essentially the same image which is right on the heels of the S&B.

the Delta comes with a 10yr manf defect warranty.. the Athlon comes with a lifetime, no brainer warranty... The Athlon does cost more and if you are hard on your gear, you might want to consider the extra cost as insurance.

It seems that both Athlon and Delta jumped on a new chassis offered by LOW and are enjoying some very positive performance vs pricing.

Good stuff...

Jerry

I just bought a couple of the Delta Stryker 4.5-30x 56mm scopes. I have a number of high end rifles that have been sitting without scopes for too long. Unfortunately I can't afford to put S&B etc on them. Even Steiner is priced a bit high. Then I came across the Athlon Cronus BTR and was looking into them extensively. While researching that scope, the Delta Stryker came up. After looking into those scopes, I decided to go that route. I'm looking forward to receiving these scopes. I've often gone to NF for mid end but these seem to offer more for less.

With regards to the Athlon and Delta being cousins. The new Trijicon scopes also seem to be cousins to the Athlon or plain out siblings to the Delta. From an initial look, the Trijicon does appear to be the same scope as the Delta. Also I noticed that the initial MRSP on the Trijicon was $1000 more than the Delta but now it's the same price in actual online stores. Again I think it's the same scope. The reticle is full lit like the Cronus rather then the dots on the Delta but that seems to be the only difference along with the name brand.

Who has the Trijicon on for the same price?
