Deltapoint or RMR?

Just order a S&W M&P Core 5" in 9mm.

Now I have to figure out which optic to mount. Does anyone have an opinion on best options?

I'm currently leaning towards the Leupold Deltapoint. Does anyone have an opinion for this application? Not sure if I should get the 3.5 MOA dot or 7 MOA triangle.

Does the rear sight block the adjustment lockdown screws? Has anyone figured out a solution to this?

The other option is the Trijicon RMR. I prefer the version with adjustable brightness, but haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Not familiar with others, have a Deltapoint on my Ruger 22/45. Rear sight removed to install sight lower to the bbl. 3.5 moa works for me. Auto on/off, auto brightness, just grab and go.

Yes the rear sight blocks the screws. (Not the adjustment screw, but the secondary screw that locks the primary adjustment screw from moving).
Its a bit of a pain to sight in at first..... but really you just set it and forget it. Not something I have had to constantly adjust.

Sighted in with those screws back off.
When it was good i removed the sight off the slide. Tightened the locking screws. Put the sight back on. Verified my zero. And thats all she wrote.
I know some people would cringe at the idea of sighting in, then removing your optics..... but it was fine with that delta, held zero.

I've tried both and prefer the Trijicons. Compare ease of access to adjustments and the battery. Compared side by side, it's pretty clear as to which is likely to be the more durable. The RMR is a tank. The other consideration is the size of the dot and that depends on end use. Speed shooters often favour 7 MOA while the 3.5 MOA rigs are better for more precision.

12.5 MOA triangle RMR dual illuminated. No battery, always on, bright, triangle is perfect for fast shooting yet tip can be used for precision. It's light and holds zero perfectly. Take it off, put it back, perfect zero. Tons of different mounts, QD lever etc. Don't see why I'd want anything else

I didn't like the delta point, as "dot" reflected off both glass surfaces causing 'double' vision or the illusion of two triangles. not so with the RMR. What I did like about the delta point was all the mounting options for pistols.
