I've read a thread on tacticalforums about the retaining pin denting the edge of the buffer eventually causing problems down the road. The bolt is supposed to push the buffer away from the retaining pin when the uppers are mated. I checked out my Bushy and sure enough, there are 3 dents along the face of the upper. However, as far as I could tell the buffer is not in contact with retaining pin when the uppers are mated. What can be causing this? Thanks in advance for your input.

I had a nice mark worked all the way around my buffer. It was the size of my bolt.

Caused by a nic in the bottom of the bolt carrier(cutout for the buffer retaining pin) That little burr made a little mark on the buffer after every shot. After a few hundred rounds it was very noticable. A few minutes with the file to remove the burr and all is well.

Hope this helps...
