Had the chance to handle and fire this on the weekend.

Very cool experience.

Not bad recoil etc, but I bet the larger caliburs could make your hand go numb.

With so little gun, I can only assume your arm would experience most of the recoil.

Check the gun out if you haven't seen one. Shoot it if you get the chance to be around one.

Hi WTG! that you got a chance at firing them as there arent to many people that own one. I have a rg-15 Rohm- Benz thats a 22 derringer copy and its fun gun to shoot . Try one that shoots .357 Mag. factory load then you'll feel recoil LOL! A friend of mine has a Bond Slayer and its a blast to shoot 45 Long Colt with. The 410 loads are cool too! and has the 38/357 barrel also and the 357 is brutal kicks like a mule LOL

A .22 derringer is not a bad recoil. Pretty easy actually. But a .38Spl derringer? That bounces around in your grip a lot more. Still not what I would consider as painful by a long stretch but the recoil is enough that it's tough to hold the gun well with the small grip area. I'm lucky enough to have enough buddies with 12-6 that own these sort of interesting toys that I've gotten to shoot them on occasion.

Being new to shooting I can't own a proper derringer but I did get myself one of the Canadian edition NAA "The Earl" that Kodiak brought in. It's one of those little guns which gives everyone that shoots it a huge grin and one I love to shoot a good 50 or more rounds through every time it goes to the range with me. And unlike a derringer with the impact differences caused by the two barrels My "Earl" is decently accurate at longer distances.

Being prohibited, I'm sure there aren't that many of them out there.

The Derringer looks like a cheap cap gun. The barrel opens awkwardly. It has a neat little locking mechanism, and only allows you enough gun to fire the trigger with your index, and hold it with your middle finger.

Very cool though.
