So I wanted to be able to shoot cci semi auto quiet in my Derya. So just like my 10/22 I took out the spring off the rod on top of the Derya bolt and installed a subsonic Dlask recoil spring white. It worked
HOWEVER, when I tried shooting match ammo I first tried eley target at first it worked then the next day at the range it totally failed 20/24 shot did not fire. Looking at the rim it dented but did not fire. So a guy told me to put back the stock spring and just like that it had no issues. Another strange thing is that it loves eley target but not the semi auto outlaws. Many would not fire with the stock spring. Odd as the velocity is same perhaps it’s the shape of the projectile???
How does the lesser recoil spring cause ftf? Is it because it does not have enough strength to push the 22lr into the chamber? It did not matter as I was getting ftf as soon as I chambered the first round. Why would ftf with the standard ammo but ok with the semi quiets? Can someone help me understand recoil spring strength and ftf.
