PUREVIL said:How set are you on getting a 50ae? How much do you plan on actually shooting the gun? IMO I'd get the .44mag (like I did), because you get a really good bang with .44 still and the ammo doesn't cost nearly as much, plus its readily in stock as well for that spur of the moment trip to the range.

I know alot of the hardcores on here dont appreciate the wow factor you get with a very impractical gun, but I certainly do!!
SCULLY said:I hope you don't think the .50 Action Express is similar to the .50 Browning Machine Gun because there both 50's . It sound like you are saying , that since you cant afford a 50 cal rifle , you will get a 50cal handgun . Forgive me if i'm wrong , but your post sounds that way . They are totally 2 different animals.

I take it to the gun shows (with 25 other guns) to promote handgun shooting at our gun club table. http://www.mts.net/~wrpa/ Some in the crowd love the D.E. Others get excited over the single shot black powder guns, others love the Styer 1912. Impractical but I like it. My first gun was a Ruger mark I, second was the Desert Eagle. Would I ever sell the D.E. Not likely.
The ones I have seen need some serious trigger work. Long and gritty and heavy. I lightened mine up some. Have not had the time to smooth things out.
I think the 50 AE in Canada is silly. But if you only shoot a box every year then who cares. If you want to shoot it more often then seriously consider the 44 magnum instead. If you have way too much money then go for the 50.
IM_Lugger said:that .50 fealing will wear off after you buy a coule of boxes of ammo. IIRC it's about $2-3 per round, that's $100-150 per box of 50.44mag is $25-30, I reload .44mag for about $12 a box
anyways if youre set on .50 get an additional .44mag barrel so you can actually shot the gun...
