I have a rem 700 varmint sps in a 22-250.ca it,s my goto everyday gun froom yotes to the odd whitetail it gets the most use out of my other guns the only problem the top load floorplate i do not u derstand gun makers still deal with this ####!!!! It,s garbage lol.... Any sugestions on a replacement box clip thanks!

A gunsmith showed me 3 different variations for my V.S. 700 BDL's, but I haven't went ahead with a conversion as of yet. I use mine for bench rest target shooting and the smith said it may not be worth converting unless it was a hunting rifle. I know nothing about the SPS. I too, am a big fan of the detachable magazine.

Buy a Sako or Tikka, then no worries.

I thought Remington SPS has a detach magazine...maybe only in some calibers then?? There should be conversion kits available

There is a DM model and a floor plate model, it's not caliber specific.

OP, look up Kwik Clip. Its a kit that swaps out your bottom metal with a DM style replacement complete with the magazine.

Kwik Klip manufacture a detachable magazine conversion for the Remington 700, both short action and long action. They work well for hunting.

i have a .280 rem 7600 pump model that i,ve owned for several years Remington made this model with a silky smooth detachable mag to bad all their guns d,ont come with it! thanks for the input ,
i will keep looking at company,s like hr precision wich they d,ont make any for my 22-.250 cal

I put an HS-precision in my BDL 22-250. (308 kit)

Has 4 and 10 round mags. Works great, but not cheap. In the 10 round mags the ammo has to be loaded towards the front to function 100%.

Only complaint is the release button is a little small, but on the newer ones I think they fixed that. (hard to release with gloves on)

I've never found top loading a floorplate rifle to be that arduous but I digress. We used to sell a lot of Kwik Klips when I worked at Wholesale Sports in the old days, but I have never used one.
