I'm getting daring in my old age. I want to totally strip down my Uberti single action cowboy guns and do trigger jobs and some general fine tuning of things. I can totally tear apart an AR15 and put it back together, so why not a handgun.

Can anyone point to a web site that shows dissassembly and most important, re-assembly:redface: and maybe the basics of what I need to do to complete a trigger job?

Thanks

The basic design of the single action is quite simple.

If all the parts were out and on a table it wouldn't take long to figure out where they go....... start removing frame screws observing where they go........ once the internals are exposed then you can remove cross frame screws. Observe where everything goes and what it does.....

Triggers are easy to screw up.. it is an ongoing learning experience... have new parts on hand first before screwing up.

Hey, it sounds allot like that commercial on TV, where the guys talking to his Surgeon on the phone, and the Surgeons trying to direct the guy, to where to start the Incision!

Get the books "GUNSMITHING GUNS OF THE OLD WEST" by DAVID R. CHICOINE $28 US or " THE COLT SINGLE ACTIONREVOLVERS A SHOP MANUAL, VOL. 1&2" by JERRY KUHNHAUSEN $35 us both at ( www.brownells.com ) they shouldn't have any problem sending a book to CANADA BUT?. You could also do a GOOGLE SEARCH for used books , you may get a used one cheaper. The first book mentioned covers most if not all of the guns that might be used in COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks everyone for your input. The link for the Ruger single action really helps and I'm going to order some reading material from Brownells (assuming they don't want an import permit)

Thanks again.
