Devalue of handguns

"...What the hell are dealers going to do..." More of 'em will close up shop after losing thousands of dollars. Dealers have to pay for their stock just like the rest of us.
 
Those pukes say they will give fair market value. There will be no market when they are done screwing us, so the guns will be worth ####.

So they do not even want to grandfather them either? What a rip off???

There may be a business idea here. Buy as many of the banned handguns from Canada to export to the US where they will fetch some money but If you have chinese made then forget abou it.
 
It really depends on the details of any new laws or regulation. If they decide to do voluntary gun buybacks, you won't be offered much. If they force a buyback I would expect higher values offered to avoid legal costs. If they prohibit all handguns like they did the 12(6) ones then the values will hold for a few years, and the rare guns will retain value while the common ones devalue quickly.
If there are handgun free cities/provinces and a general import prohibition, this would likely cause values to drop faster on guns remaining in circulation.

I wonder how many people who were contemplating treating themselves to a new handgun for a Christmas present will take a "wait & see" now. :eek:

I was only a hair away from ordering a spankin' new Para SSP myself...:mad:

how the hell did this happen? I even heard Laton talking about dealing with the cause roots of the violence (that seamed like a step forward)

I am planning to buy a Dlask 1911, if I get the cash in place before the ban I'll still buy it, but you know, I'm so careless where I leave things, who knows where it might be...bound to be around here somewhere - just can't seem to put my finger on it.

Don't wait, this isn't law yet. Even IF the Liberals get re-elected (hope they don't) this new "law" won't go into effect for some time. I just bought that Beretta that is on the way, and plan on getting a BHP and CZ-75 ASAP.
 
I don't mean to sound racist but lets all make sure the Gov't has enough yellow star of David patches for all of us. I wouldn't want anyone to mistake me for a "non" gunner and a liberal supporter. Taking ours guns as was mentioned many years ago before the current legislation is simply the ultimate goal of our nations politicians. We all knew it was coming, some didn't believe it and others still don't believe it. I for one am with HeadDamage, buy them while you can and continue to fight these totalitarian ####s with all you have.... I'd sooner die on my feet than live on my knees.

This is nothing more than a feeble attempt to gain votes by the Liberals. They have obviously figured out that all gun owners will most likely vote conservative and hence see no risks in stating this obviously senseless attempt to ban handguns. There is no logic behind his statements, and personally I find it offensive as a voting citizen that he would think that we are not smart enough to know that what he proposes doesn't work in preventing gun violence in the streets. I truely believe that he has done nothing more than open a new can of worms for himself and his party. This new attempt to ban handguns WILL NOT phase me and I will keep on buying what I please! It will be a cold day in hell before I give up my guns without a fight!
 
Maurice Strong is Paul Martin's main advisor. He pushed for global gun control when he was Kofi Annan's advisor at the UN. Gun control is Martin's personal objective I would think.
