Dewat Bren Marked 'DEWAT'

I picked up this Bren yesterday at a local show. Needs a bit of TLC but what I like about is that it's officially marked 'DEWAT' with a C-Broad Arrow.

The show was in Great Village, NS...tables were sold out, buzzing with people and the cash was flowing!!!

The Bren just needs a few odds & ends. Front lever lock for the tripod attachment and a magazine well cover.

What are the two blocks on the right side of the receiver forward of the "Inglis 1941". I can't say I have ever seen those on the right side of the receiver before.

The reinforced areas of the receiver?

Some generic pics I gathered...

Right side of your receiver, below the magazine and forward of the "Inglis mk1m" are two re-enforced portions that almost look like the dovetail that should be on the left side of a mk1 receiver. Trust me, I have seen plenty of Cdn Bren receivers, and your original photo is a little dark, but there is some difference on yours that I have not seen on others.

Ah...now I know what you're referring. What you see is the weld plus a small gap. I want to fill that up with thickened epoxy and give it a quick respray in that area to smooth it out.

I thought DEWAT was an unofficial USA term for DEactivated WAr Trophy.
Was that term ever used my the Can military/.

That c broad arrow looks a little suspect.
When my Dad was in 2 PPCLI they apparently had great fun with brens chopping down trees.

Never been in the hands of a rogue collector. Of course, the broad arrow looks odd...it's not been punched.
