the deac market is basically dead now in this country. Or it will be shortly at any rate.

So let me great this strait - You can buy a deact 120mm as long as its attached to a Cheiftan tank but a 9mm Uzi is a no-no?

Well, I was talking about the UK, the tank gun would be considered a firearm as it is a "lethal barrelled weapon", so it would supposedly fall under the definition of a "realistic imitation firearm" under this stupid new law, so no, you couldn't have a chieftain tank with the gun in place.

Interesting point though, I hadn't thought about deactivated tank guns.

$1000+ :!: :?: I have an old UZI sitting right here! It says isreali military idustries on it but I've heard that it was made by a chinese company and was only made to shoot blanks. All I know is that it looks like an uzi and my friends #### themselves everytime it comes out. It's awsome. I love it but hey, if someone wants to give me a grand for it they can have it. I always assumed it was just a worthless toy.

Lotsa them for sale, though. England is like the mall as far as ex-mil vehicles is concerned.

Not that many around as far as I can recall. The mini weren't that popular.

is that a micro uzi or a uzi pistol. If it is a micro it should be select fire. otherwise it will just be an uzi pistol.. Still more rare than a mac or varient.

That's just a regular Uzi pistol, they're prohibited in Canada, I assume it was one that someone had legally and then when they were prohibited, they had it deactivated so they could sell it.

I suspect the value would depend on how "deactivated" it is.

Shock news just in:

On Thursday the Government introduced an amendment to the Violent Crime Reduction Bill that exempts deactivated firearms, antiques and imitations of antiques from the definition of "realistic imitation firearm", so assuming the Bill becomes law with that amendment intact, deactivated firearms will not be banned from import, manufacture or sale in the UK.

Before you become too shocked that the British Government has actually decided to listen to sense for once, they did also introduce a raft of anti amendments, such as banning the mail order sale of air guns, restricting sales to registered firearm dealers, increasing the age limit for possession of a crossbow to 18, and other nastiness besides.

A lot of people were lobbying the Government on this issue, including me, the HBSA, and various re-enactment and military vehicle organisations.

I could tell you why they actually changed their minds, but I think I will wait until the Bill is enacted.
