Anyone have any personal expy doing a detune on one? I was kinda of thinking to UK type power level, as I have read the 12fpe in .177 power level is ideal. This of course comes from the gang that has no choice, so maybe it isn't?

12 FPE in .177 is pretty nice for shooting, with normal pellets cruising in the 800 fps range. This will significantly reduce the recoil. From what I've read, even increasing in power with some of those kits will smooth them out for reduced recoil and less noise produced.

I've shot some springers with these kits, and definitely found them to be smooth and quiet. Wouldn't be a bad idea. Usually the payoff is when smoothing out lighter rifles, as the weight helps counteract the recoil, but it would most likely still be very noticeable. The Diana 48 and 52 are quite heavy at 8.8 lbs.

I have some expy with the Vortek kits, but not for the 48. I have a 48 and 54 and find them both overpowered. Not from a hunting perspective mind you, just targets.
