Hey Guys, I am searching for a good pellet for 25 to 50 yard shooting. I heard the crossman super dome is good. I am interested in some results form others that shoot a high powered air rifle, especially the mod 48. Right now the crossmans I am using get about a 1" 1.25" group at 25 yards. I think thats partly me though as I am learning the nuances of springer shooting.

Beeman Kodiaks are a heavy pellet designed for powerful airguns primarily for hunting. In the UK also known as H+N Barracuda.I use JSB jumbo exacts[Czech] 5.52" dia in my HW80K/.22 and they make one hole groups at 20 yards.completely penetrate crows and grouse at 30 yards .Maybe further as never shot one past that range.50 yards same deal on coke cans.Soft/pure lead so good expansion................Harold ***if you're not already rigged up with a good scope try the new Leapers mt made for RWS 48 $20 at D+L out of BC

I would order JSB exacts. I got a case of 5000 for 60.00 a few years ago and never looked back. You can order them from Airgunsonly in North Battleford SK. They area a great dealer for airgun stuff.

Pellet Accuracy

Try every pellet type you can find (pellets are cheap). You will be suprised at the difference in accuracy and group sizes. If you really want a suprise weigh them. for consistancy. I noticed with my model 48/52 in 177cal that it was very fussy in the pellets it shot. I wasnt overly impressed with the accuracy at first, so I bought every type of pellet I could find and shot 10 round groups at 20 yards to start. While the pointy hunting pellets would penetrate a 2x4 the accuracy was terrible in my rifle. Thru experimentation with match pellets, hunting pellets, target wad cutters, and round nose I found suprisingly my best accuracy was with crossman copperhead wadcutters, or round nose pellets. Once I found pellets my rifle liked I was able to start shooting longer distances with much more accuracy.
Just my thoughts

Thanks guys.........great information! I like the looks of that mount too Harold. I might just pop off the scope I have remount and start over. I know the 48 has the accuracy potential in there some where.
