Did a search...couldn't find...DIY for mag pinning

Speaking of, say you can just barely squeeze six rounds into the magazine, but the sixths often pops out, it's pretty clear that its only intended for 5, but it does accept the sixth round. Will that be ruled as prohib? And how can you modifiy it so that it won't accept that last round?
The powers that be won't care if it feeds or functions reliably, only if it WILL hold six. IMO assume that you would be judged by the letter of the law.
As to modifications; not enough info to opine.
It has been a few years since I did some of these,
you can pin it any way you want as long it can't be
reversed, -ie -unpined.
Do you have a small mig welder? if not I would get
a gunsmith to do it.
The way I did it was spot weld a 1/8" or 3/16" thick piece
of flat iron ( I can't remember how wide) onto the bottom
of the lifter arm to stop it from going lower than 5 1/2 rounds.
It will depend on what type of stop you have in it now,

I believe with mags with spring followers you take the floor plate and spring out, flip it upside down, put 5 rounds in (with the follower still in) and make sure it is all sitting flush like a normal mag. take a piece of doweling and measure from the bottom of the mag up, then measure the same distance on the outside (leave a couple of mm for the 1/2 round) and put a rivet in the back of the mag.
If you have a hole in the bottom of your magazine you can put an 1 1/2" bolt or machine screw through, file it slightly so it holds 5 rds easily, and then solder or braze the nut in place. The bolt keeps it strong as it takes the strain as opposed to your welds. Seems to have worked well for me thus far.
No one has pics of this step by step?
Its my understanding that putting a rivet on the back of a SKS mag, will prevent the floor plate to be open like normally to unload the mag because the follower will stop against the rivet......so would not be a pratical way to plug a SKS mag. Correct me if i missed something
