So there I was loading up my 72 grains (by weight) of blackhorn 209 getting ready for war in the morning. When I got to my 4 year old Hornady monoflex 250 grain bullets putting them in sabots in separate tubes they looked like they should. BUT. When I opened up the new box (only had 3 old ones left) I noticed the skivving was much deeper, there was more of it, and this! Pictured below is a sxs of the same bullet old and new. The new ones, aside from more skivving, are longer.

Now my question is to you guys... Are they gonna shoot the same poi? This is bothering me and it's 10:30 pm so I can't really fire one off the front deck to check it out at the moment.

Weigh them! This might be a different bullet altogether.
I did, the one on the left weighs 250.8 grains and the new ones are between 248.8-249.9. I even drilled a hole right straight through one of the old ones to make sure they weren't SST, nope 100% copper all the way through. If they were SST I wouldn't even go out hunting with them junk bullets, didn't even exit on a beaver I shot with them a ways back. Those monoflex though, they'll plow through the deer and the mountain behind it AND leave a blood trail you could see from space.

I have some bought probably 4 years back or so and they look like your old ones.

Sst were more accurate in my omega with bh209 so that's what we shoot. They have done well on the dozen deer we have shot with them including some big bucks. Speed at muzzle is 1950. I have tested the 250 sst into water jugs and its pretty soft at 1950. Not sure id want to drive it harder.

I agree the SST are lazer beams, but so are the monoflex out of my gun and man do they plow through a critter! I just find the difference in length a little suspect
