Did I just win the optics lottery?

I wanted to test the accuracy of My Robinson XCR with something more precise than my 4 MOA Aimpoint CompM3. However, due to paranoia and personal preference, I wanted to maintain the ability to put my Aimpoint back on at a moments notice. I have a QD ARMS mount already.

I picked up a set of Burris Quick detach Zee rings with medium bases and put on a Leupold VX I 2-7x33. I had to take off the Aimpoint and the MI BUIS because the low mount would not see over the BUIS when folded. I did not bore sight it before taking it to the range.

Lo and behold, the scope is perfectly aligned for windage and elevation out to 200 yards. I did not have to adjust it one click. I was told that this was not possible. Did I just win the scope mounting lottery?

Next weekend, I will see how well I can repeat it, by removing the scope and reinstalling the aimpoint and back again. I'm assuming I got really lucky.

As for the accuracy of the XCR with better optics? At a bench, with no bags or support and an admittedly sloppy trigger and factory Win white box 55gr fmj, I managed to squeeze out 2.5" 10 round groups at 50 yrds and 5.5" groups at 100 yards. I feel that given that I didn't bring my shooting bags, and that I need to work on learning the trigger technique best used with the XCR (i'm spoiled with a Jewell on my Rem 700) that the margin of error was all me. I could see my cross hairs floating around, so the weak grouping are not the fault of the rifle.
