Hi All
I was making some more heavy .452 jacketed bullets today for sabot use in 50 cals. These pigs weigh 550 grns.I got to thinking as I was seating the cores, what twist would be needed to stabilize these????????
We have been shooting the 400 grn bullets a fair amount with great accuracy, but I am wondering if I got carried away,it would be nice to hear some opinions before I finished making them and realize a custom twist would be needed
thanks

The Greenhill formula is 150 D squared over length = twist or you can reverse twist and length to calculate the longest bullet the rifling will stabilize. I would suggest using a twist 1" faster than the formula.
