Did I .... uhh... see this right?

CGI play a role here? Might not even exist at all

The contouring and lighting where the forward assist meets the receiver seems off

^^ We don't see the stock, but it's certainly not a Mesa Tactical adapter, we see the right side of the AR15 selector switch under the forward assist, they did cut an AR15 right in front of the forward assist, and they managed to bolt it to the shotgun, they also did cut the top of the upper receiver under the charging handle, we see the crappy filling job done there.
You know what? I think they did cut a bit of the shotgun too... is it a 870, a 500? What the hell man...
And that barrel "thing"? I don't want to know.

maybe its a digitized shotgun... she just holds her hands like she is cradling the gun and they shoot the scene in front of a green screen and then just digitaly add the gun afterwords... imagine the fun you could have with that software and that film :D

a) why does it have a forward assist plunger?
b) I think the weird barrel is actually a barrel shroud. You know... that thing that goes up.

IMFDB says "It has a Magpul M93A rear stock attached to a Mesa Tactical M4 adapter block and a Mesa Tactical Top receiver Rail with an EOTech holographic Sight. "

IMFDB was a pretty cool site, that is until all the Tactical Airsofters and First Person Shooter Video Game nerds took over, average age of IMFDB editors is approx 12.

On a movie shoot, most of the time, the actors are holding "rubber guns" molded from actual rubber or plastic airsoft models without the guts. These guns are lighter so actors don't get tired holding them. And it is safer as well since actors could hurt themselves with heavy steel guns, even if they are deact! Real firearms are only used in extreme closeup or if shots need to be fired.

In that pic, obviously some prop guy used a saw on a couple of rubber guns and then glued them together to form this AR-500! The armorers probably did not have an airsoft gun with the proper AR stock adapter... In the shooting scenes, a real Mossy was probably used with the adaptor and without the forwards assist!
