Did Remington make a Grey Laminate stock ?

That's a really nice rifle. It was around the year 2000 A.D. that this version came-out. What is your rifle chambered in?

I had one in 300 WSM. Remington replaced the recoil pad as the factory one deteriorated. Left a black sticky goo in the safe. Mine seemed to be jinxed for me. Every time I used it I would never harvest an animal. Take another rifle out of the safe and never a problem. Finally sold and replaced it with an X-bolt Carbon fibre.

I have the nutmeg thumbhole laminated version I would have to check but I think it’s 2008/09 production. Factory recoil pad is still intact as new. Shot a pile of game over the years with this dandy. Chambered in 300 RUM

I like those weaver bases better than my Leupolds, they don't hang into the ejection port.

I had a 700 LSS in 243, and one in 280 Rem

Though Remington didn't make the stocks themselves, the ones they fitted to the 700 LSS rifles and the Model 798 M98 Mauser based rifles shared
the same profile & checkering pattern, but the 798 stocks were nutmeg colored. Great looking stocks either way.REM 798.jpg

Yes, the 700 LSS is a great rifle that was offered in RH and LH versions. I have owned both; RH in 7mm Rem Mag and LH in 270 Win. Great looking and comfortable!
My current LH in 280 Rem XCR also has a LSS stock for nice weather/terrain hunts, and wears the XCR stock for rough weather/terrain hunts. Glass bedded both so there is no shift in poi when swapping stocks.
Enjoy your new rifle!
