Did the RCMP ever issue the Colt 1903 .32 auto?

I don't know the answer, but the RCMP museum in Regina has all their handguns on display. If you email or call them, they probably will let you know. I'd bet "yes", just because everyone and his brother seemed to issue that for one purpose or another.

The BC Attorney General's Office owns guns that they issue to the RCMP. So that could be a direction to look. I have S&W Model 17 .22's that the BC AG sold off as surplus and they are marked RCMP AUX. etc The guns are in mint condition.

More than likely it is not an issued firearm. Back in the day, when a Police Force (in Canada anyhow) confiscated or seized a firearm it was stamped. How they got back out into public circulation I have no idea. I have seen old firearms stamped TPF (Toronto Police Force) which of course is the predecessor to Toronto Metro. Stands to reason the RCMP, OPP, ect also stamped such firearms.
