Heard rumors that the Type 97 was once again classed as prohib by the RCMP, can anyone verify this with the live FRT system? I checked the website thingy everyone keeps linking and failed to find any mention of the Type 97.

The "what does it matter their coming for all guns eventually" people can preach elsewhere to someone who cares.... cus I DONT.

I looked on the weekend, was still NR as of Sunday, mind you there are multiple frt#'s for the type 97, the one to watch is the one with NSR in the name.

The first batch to come to Canada were made with full auto parts if I recall, and were later prohibited. North Silva brought some in that weren't, and it was later called the T97NSR (North Silva Rifle) that was deemed NR, and has been ever since.

There are a few FRTs listing the Type 97.

Prohib; full auto
Prohib; converted auto
Non-Restricted; deemed to the the T97 NSR
Non-Restricted; Sniper Variant - I believe very few were imported, but they're in there!
