I have seen on the Internet that some people have modified the SKS to go full auto but did they ever make them full auto from the factory for combat use? Did the Viet cong ever make them full auto?

If the AK-47 was never made what would the SKS be changed to be more of an assault rifle?

The Yugoslavs apparently arsenal-modified some Type 59s to select fire. Beyond that I don't know of any factory full auto SKSs. The Chinese takeoffs are merely patterned after the SKS and would be a stretch to call them such.

I vote that we get off this topic. It's a moot point anyway, we can't have FA so let's be happy with what little we're 'allowed'.
No one is discussing converting their SKS to full auto, someone merely asked if it had been manufactured this way in a historical context. Please check the liberal-esque bed wetting at the door. Thanks.

There was no manufacture of full auto SKSes for military use. The Type 63/68 had a rotating bolt, implying that the SKS wasn't suitable for full auto as is. And of course the AK coming out at around the same time made it unnecessary.

Yugo select-fire M59 with parts removed (ie. no longer select-fire):

Sorry I don't have a pic of a functional one.

Did somebody say pew-pew-pew?! :sok2

On a serious note, my dad told me that the M59s were having reliability issue, so no wonder the project was scrapped and JNA got better selective fire solutions.
