never met this guy but i found this on the ee and i thought its interesting.
I feel for this guy cause i have had given stuff away that i dont use and had stuff given to me that i needed... unfortunately i have nothing in my safe anymore that i am able to give away. Was thinking someone may have an old cooey to get this guy started. what do you think? someone?

most phone talk chicks are cooking cinnamon buns to feed their fat thighs when talking to some dude on the 900 line, wonder what this guys story 'really' is.

my friends ex wife had hottest voice but if you met her you would run...i guess
we will never know...struck me though. that is why i said ...what do you think? maybe i am too naive...

man its the internet, can never really know, if true I have a dust collector that fits the criteria, but one will never ever know.....

Hard to imagine a guy buying a pal and then needing $ for a $50 rifle, what's he going to shoot through it? free ammo... should be using that spare time working not shooting so he could afford a gun.....just some first pass thoughts

I’m Etienne and I’m the original poster of the WTB-dust collecting gun.
I guess I was naive enough myself to though that since I was good person with good intention that would automatically translate on internet.

The fact of the matter is that I work (pretty long hours) now on starting a company, because I lost my job in October 2009 and for the same reason I didn’t had a revenue since then.

I also truly believe in giving things away, as I have done myself in the past with clothes, a desk, a tv and a even a car (1997 jetta if you want to know) and have also been at the receiving end wich prompt me to thought that there was probably some people who have gun they don’t use that I could use.

Again a 100/200$ might seem trivial for some (was for me and might be in the future) but now it can make a pretty big difference because I have no revenue.

Anyway I thought about a 22 precisely because I can’t spend much on ammo. I also asked for a deer/moose gun (didn’t specify the caliber because I’m not picky) to be able to go hunting next fall. I know I couldn’t get much practice with that one, but It’s kind of why I wanted to compensate with more practice with the 22.

I don’t want to twist the arm of nobody here, nor depive anyone of it’s favourite toys, but I wanted to make clear that I was not trying to scam anybody here.

Also I wanted to thanks drslav for his nice gesture of reposting it here. Thanks for the support.

In the end I can’t blame you if you don’t believe me (this is the internet after all), but I want to try because I believe that solidarity can spawn even on the internet.

Free guns do exist! I just gave two away on the Youth Wing Forum. They needed a bit of TLC, but I had put more than a few rounds through each in current form. Dudley2112 is cleaning 'em up and giving them to two new shooters who just did their courses. I also had some 'spare' ammo, a case and cleaning supplies to add in. Then again, these guns went to someone who is a known quantity in the CGN community, and not some newbie.

But if you can't afford a 90$ Cooey on the EE, you have some more pressing matters in life to deal with first.

It was worth a try...well i guess you might just have to wait until things get better in your life. good luck to you.
never get discouraged...

Honestly, I think the guy is legit. Lots of people are down on their luck and would like to try something new buy cant afford it. I dont have anything in my safe that is more than a year old, or I would think about it for sure.

Good luck to you.

could very well be legit, however guns are something you usually give to someone you know well, very well, not a stranger on the internet a whole country away, just my thougths.

I feel for your story but I just have to say if you can't afford a gun to go hunting you are far better buying your meat from the store because its certainly not going to be cheaper

A guy can easily find a 22 LR for less than 75.00 $ (I see plenty of Husqvarna at prices as low as 59.00 $..) and a Lee-Enfield No. 1 for less than 100.00 $, I bought two at 25.00 $ ea. not so long ago (sorry, they are not here no-more).

^ I was going to say that.
I would be the first to offer a free .22 if I had one hanging around. However, the cost of a rifle - even a nice one... - is just a small fraction of all costs related to hunting.
Try finding a hunting partner who will take you out and can lend you a good rifle. IMO, that would be a way better hunting experience with a partner who has reliable and proper hunting gear. As you know, the .22 has its limitations...
BTW, I'm planning a hunting trip in Quebec this year. (I believe, that's where you live.) Let me know if you're interested in big game hunting.

I was not naive enough to think that all I needed to hunt was a rifle... But I guess it sure help to have one ;)

That said I was hoping to start with shooting at paper and eventuall at rabbits with a 22. And eventually (actually next fall) big game as well.

Rustysdream, indeed I'd be intereted to tag along someone as I am quite interested in big game hunting but know very few big game hunter. Where are you planing to go? I do live in Montreal.

Dang! I just gave away a Russian nagant (to a gunsmith who didnt need it). It had a Bubbad bolt handle and a poor finish job but it was perfectly functional.

agite12,
I understand your plight, having a license and nothing to shoot. I have a drivers license and I don't have a cadillac. I will when I can afford one.:nest:

Sounds like another handout from the west to the east again.:jerkit:

Hey, if they started giving people out in the East with the equilization payments to the other provinces I'd think we were getting somewhere. If not, we would be in a few years.
Unfortunately, I am not sure if I have anything to offer. My only 22 was a gift when I turned 16, and that was 14 years ago.
