Did you sell a Valmet M78 to Klunk??

Did you tell the police to read the Firearms act?

They should know it’s non-restricted... but of course, “ignorance of the law”, is only used against “civilians”...

Dealing with an estate and an inheritance.

I have this Valmet in a Police station and am trying to prove its a non restricted to set it free.

If you sold this gun to Klunk please PM me soonest!!!

If anyone else knows some history of where he bought it plese feel free to chime in!!!

Don't want to see this one get welded up!!!

Thank you!!!

Please keep in the mind, the Firearms Act does not supersede the Executor Act. If you are the legal executor (or whoever is) you have full capability to manage and dispose of all of the firearms in a legal manner, with no actual time-frame required. Similar to the above post, you should be able to find someone with access to the FRT to indeed prove that it is listed as non-restricted.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I have been told the Executor has 1 year to dispose of said items. and they have the same powers as the person who owned the firearms.

WOW.. Now I regret not taking his offer to stay at his place many years ago. When I was suppose to goto Borden. Sorry to hear for the loss. He was a great person. Enjoyed reading his posts.

The Police have access to the RCMP FRT database where it will be clearly listed as non-restricted. The members you are dealing with need to get their heads out of their asses, and stop playing games.

guess I duno the details, but why would you not be able to present them with the FRT number, and all that. ive had the misfortune to have to deal with a police department that was holding a CA M14 that the previous owner had committed suicide. I was also executer. I have a 12.3 class PAL. police seized all firearms and within a week I had came and got them all back, all but the M14. they insisted it had to go for distruction. I said no , it was transferable. what finally worked for me, even tho I was executer, and had a PAL that was 12.3 was to purchase it from the estate.

Klunk was a good man, and I was very sad to hear this when it happen

I'll correct on two counts. Firstly its "reasonable amount of time" to deal with the Estate. Contesting of the Will for example could extend this time by great number of months or years. Secondly, the Executor does not have the same powers as the person who owned the firearms. If you as the executor do not have a firearms license, you cannot go shooting anytime you desire, nor are previous convenience conditions transferable to the executor. You as the executor can open and close the safe, and sell them as per an agent of the estate.
