die question

All presses and dies are standard 7/8" hole-14 thread per inch as far as I know.
The exceptions are special presses for 50 BMG and such.
I use Lyman, Lee, RCBS, and Hornady dies and shell holders in my Pacific press with no problems.

Some presses like the Lee Classic Cast come with an adapter that lets you use the larger sized (.50 BMG, etc.) dies as well as the standard 7/8x14 dies.

hey all,

Starting to get into reloading and was wondering, is there any difference in reloading die's brands? Eg. can I use a lee die in an RCBS press?

Yep, you can !

The more likely use of this insert (removal) is the use of quick change die systems like Hornady's LNL bushings. These are a truly cost effective way to significantly speed up die/tool changeovers with your single stage press. They can be used with all standard thread dies. Lee, I believe, makes a similar system. They're great!

The Forster Co-ax is the simplest die change out and you don't need bushings, Forster and Redding are my choice of die makers as well, but also use RCBS, and CH4D as well, I avoid Lee and Hornady dies. Just my personal opinion after nearly 50 years of reloading.

What he said.

I've had good luck with all brands of dies, RCBS, Hornady and Lee. I use Lee collet dies for all my target/practice loads and RCBS and Hornady FL dies for most of my hunting ammunition. None have shown any problems or advantages over the others. Just my 2 cents
