Has anyone ordered dies from the us. I’m looking for an available source for these dies in Canada but everyone seems to be back ordered and quotes 6-8m for delivery. They are available in the us with “world wide” shipping but I’m not certain what import costs might be and or if they’d get stopped at the border. Thoughts? Looking for 7.62x25 tok

Thanks

My experience ordering from outside Canada - say past 5 years - about a dozen times - perhaps one out of three parcels to me get dinged by Canada Customs for GST / PST - I have never had to pay "duty" on slings, scope rings, gun parts, screws, etc. So maybe $3 GST / PST on the value - then parcel continues to local Post Office - I have to pay an additional $9.95 (?) as a "collection fee" - (so now total to pay is $3 GST/PST plus $9.95 = $12.95) I thought that the $10 goes to Post Office and the GST goes to Fed government, and PST goes to province. And about 2 out of three parcels just arrive for me - I can not figure out what triggers that tax assessment - I have had to pay for smaller value than larger value parcels - is no sense to it that I can figure out - as if random.

Totally separate from courier "brokerage fees" - perhaps 20 years ago, I ordered item from USA - I paid the Seller for the item and shipping - sent by courier - the Seller paid the courier for shipping - item arrived - then I received a bill for the courier "brokerage fee" - was last time that I used a courier to bring something into Canada to me.

It would be quicker to order them out of Europe. That's been my experience anyway and prices are similar.

Google is your friend

Higginsonpowders.com is really good at getting what you need in my personal experience.

Rustywood.ca is spoken well of and there are lots of others who can get lee precision here pretty quickly. Just go with one of these.
If it's rare, specialty, or custom dies then the equation might change.

yep, same here, usps is best, no broker and they cant look at all parcels so it is random, ups or feddex charge broker fees in my experience. I heard Canada post may be starting to charge $10 broker fee which may be what you got dinged. not a big deal. I have heard of guys shipping through the others and get a broker fee of $50 for a $25 item!

Most recent is underway - Canada Post tracking followed a parcel to me from Virginia in USA - was mailed via USPS - so was "released" by US Customs to leave USA, then arrived in this country and has cleared Canada Customs - now has been "processed" by Canada Post in Mississauga - so at some point will get to me in Western Manitoba - at which point I will find out if I get to pay more or not. Was a band and stock spring for a Swede m94-14 rifle. I presume was at least "x-rayed" by US Customs and / or Canada Customs - apparently USA does not have much sense of "funny" about certain things leaving their country, and Canada Customs might have similar attitude towards certain things coming into this country - but apparently the parcel is past all that, now. The parcel was mailed from Richmond, Virginia on January 11 - so like 6 days ago. Sender says the package has a Customs Declaration on it - listing the contents inside.
