Hello all,

I thought some of you fellow Diemaco/Colt Canada nerds would appreciate some of these pictures. Here's an CF issued C8A3 carbine. The lower receiver was made in 2010 (Colt Canada produced) and the upper was made prior to 2005 (Diemaco Produced). Of note is the rebuilt Elcan C79A2-1 as this particular one was originally built in 1995.

Enjoy the pictures!

Thanks for sharing, Kevin. The C79, the bayonet and figuring out where BCM added the 0.3" stretch to make it NFA Compliant are the last stumbling blocks on my "Canadian Designed, American Built" version...

Question to you guys who use these professionally... do any of you ever rig any kind of "on-board" (on-rifle, as opposed to using an LBV pocket) carrier for spare batteries, and if so how did you do it? On my M4 the Aimpoint carries its spare in an extended battery cover, but the EoTech currently riding the C8's AA's are a little more problematic.

There’s usually a small battery compartment that goes into the pistol grip. They’re hit or miss. On newer rifles they stay put but I’ve seen older ones fall out lots.

You mean a replacement for the cleaning kit? (Man, is that thing a freakin' pain packing to fit in its plastic... doesn't help that Otis doesn't give you repacking instructions so you're playing 3-D Tetris.)

I know a lot of guys just end up using a beverage bag for waterproof and keeping them in a pouch on the tac vest. I do this usually, those IMP bev bags are miraculous for keeping stuff dry.

There are pistol grip inserts that will fit the A2 grip that fits 2 AA batteries. I have seen some using the magpul/bcm and other stocks with battery compartments. I prefer to keep this extra weight in my gear than on my rifle.

That's dope, what's inside the grip? I was halfway through a civ clone of this when the jackass' started their jackassery. My grip is hollow though.
