Diemaco Line Throwing Rifles

Hello all,

I thought some of you would be interested in these photos of the Canadian Navy using Diemaco C7's configured as Line Throwing Rifles. These photos were taken in 2008, during Op PROJECTION in West Africa.

They're bog standard C7's fitted by Techs with the line thrower cup on the muzzle.

Nothing special done to the rest of it other than the safety orange paint.

NEVER saw those in years of sailing up to 2010. Or the No 4s. Not on one single east coast vessel. Everybody used H&R based break opens.

When I was posted to St John's, NL I saw one of these take out someones car passenger window when I was on Berthing duty. Had to laugh as the car was in a no parking zone.

Have to wonder if the golf ball launchers TNA is/was selling were originally meant for line-throwing or were perhaps inspired by them.
