I just noticed a difference between the NORC BCG and the US-made ones.
I have a stag arms, dpms, and a norc BCG.
On the side that is exposed to the dust cover, the divot for the firing pin retaining pin in the norc bolt carrier is larger and wider (almost the same width and depth as is on the other side where the pin is suppose to enter) than the stag arms, and dpms one that I have.
I've tried, and yes, the the retaining pin could be inserted from the exposed side. It can charge but grinds - I assume that if the pin starts to extricate or loosen, that it could also seize the BCG and cause it to be N/S. So, DON"T DO IT. Don't let a numpty reassemble your BCG.
