I don't think I have seen this yet and for some reason (probably me) I can't seem to find the R5 on remingtons website. I was just wondering the difference between the 2 rifles and maybe pros and cons.
Thanks guys!

700P comes in Standard 1:12 twist rate with standard 4 groove rifling while the 5R comes with a milspec twist rate (something like 1:11.25 I think) and has a radiused 5 groove rifling.

The 1/11/25 twist is used by the US Army (M24). It was developed specially for the 175gr match bullets.

The 5R is a limited annual production, therefore many assume (!) overall attention and manufacturing is above that of the mass produced 700P model. I think the stainless steel action and heavy barrel alone make it worth the premium. It makes a great rifle to build off of in the future.
